Devotees and tourists can now get a taste of local delicacies from 14 states of India at the food court in sector 1 in Kumbh Mela. With a seating capacity for over 400 people, there are over 24 counters to satiate your taste buds during the visit to Kumbh Mela.
To mark the occasion of Paush Purnima on January 21, which is also the second important date for Shahi Snan, devotees can avail ride on shuttle buses. With over 500 shuttle buses which will be deployed on various routes, this will facilitate easier access to the pilgrims. How we, the free service will be only available on January 21.
For the first time, the Cabinet meeting of the Uttar Pradesh government will happen not in Lucknow but in the Kumbh Mela. The meeting will be convened on January 29

For the convenience of the visitors and pilgrims coming to Kumbh Mela, 10 shuttle buses will provide free service in Prayagraj. Starting from Friday, 5 buses will run from plot no. 17 to Sangam Nose while 5 buses will run from Leprosy Mission Choraha to Arail Tent City.
Ahead of Kumbh 2019, the North Central Railway (NCR) has introduced a public address system for making announcements in seven different languages at railways station. This system will guide visitors and pilgrims coming from non-Hindi speaking states to attend Kumbh 2019. It will making announcement in the following languages: English, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam. In the first phase it’s functional only at Allahabad Junction while in the second phase it will be expanded to Naini and railway camps near sangam area.
With the grand opening of Kumbh 2019 in Prayagraj, Hon’ble President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind will be visiting Kumbh Mela on Thursday 17th January 2019. He will attend Ganga Pujan at Sangam nose and then will visit to Parmath Niketan Ashram at Arail, where he will pay first offering in ‘Vishav Shanti Yagya’ organised by the ashram. Then he will be attending a special program on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary year of Mahatma Gandhi.
On the occasion of Makkar Sankranti, Kumbh 2019 had a grand opening with over 20 million people took holy dip in sacred Sangam of Prayagraj along with the Sadhus of all 13 Akharas. A large number of visitors and pilgrims from the various parts of our country have reached Prayagraj to take part in Shahi Snan and millions of foreign visitors also took holy dip till late evening at Triveni Ghat.
A large number of women devotees are also reaching Prayagraj to attend the Grand Kumbh 2019. For the convenience of women Mela Authority has established Temporary Changing Rooms on 35 Ghats of Prayagraj. Over 1100 changing rooms have been established at the different bathing locations across Kumbh Mela area in Prayagraj.
With millions of people took holy dip in scared Sangam Kumbh 2019 has a grand opening in Prayagraj. The first Shah Snan was held today at Triveni Ghat under Police supervision with deep water barricading for the safety of visitors and pilgrims. Police has also deployed rescue teams with 20 motor boats and paddle boats at the bathing areas.
For the convenience of the visitors and pilgrim during Kumbh 2019, Over 100 trains from various parts of the country have been directed for temporary stoppage in Prayagraj. All non-stop trains will now have stoppage at Allahabad Junction, Naini Junction, Prayag Junction, Allahabad City Station and Jhunsi Station from 13th January onward. Around 10 trains each will now stop at Allahabad Junction and Allahabad City, while 46 and 34 trains will stop at Naini Junction and Prayag Junction, respectively.
For the convenience of visitors and pilgrims coming to Kumbh 2019 from other states, 22 special trains have been approved. North-Central Railways have received request for more than 50 trains, out of which 22 got approval including Durg, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Nagpur, Ahmedabad and Indore, and the rest are also likely to get approval soon.
To give a hassle free experience to the visitors and pilgrims, North-Central Railway have installed Electronic ticketing machines (ETMs) book tickets of ordinary, mail and superfast express trains. Being used for the first time in a Kumbh, these ETMs would be provided to Rail Kumbh Sevaks present at the Mela ground to help visitors.
For the safety during Kumbh 2019, Jal Police has set up 16 all control rooms. Jal Policemen will be deployed with motor boats and rescue equipment at 41 different bathing locations along with 190 divers. Rescue equipment includes rescue boats, diver kit, life jackets, rescue tubes and throw bag etc. which will be provided promptly at the time of need.
Ahead of Kumbh 2019, Bollywood actress Hema Malini will be performing on 24th January 2019. She will be delivering 90 minutes of magnificent Indian classical performance at Ganga Pandal in sector-1 of Prayagraj Mela area in the evening at 6.30PM.
Over 120 million people are expected to arrive in holy city Prayagraj to attend Kumbh 2019. Hon’ble President of India Mr. Ramnath Kovind and hon’ble Prime-Minister Mr. Narendra Modi will also be attending this grand festival of faith and humanity. Hon’ble President will be visiting on 17th January, while our hon’ble PM will visit on 24th January. Both will do worship and take bath in Sangam as per the rituals.
More than 400 volunteers will be trained tomorrow at Police line located in the Mela ground of Prayagraj. These Kumbh Seva mitra were shortlisted through Kumbh Sewa Mitra events conducted in various colleges of Prayagraj and will be deployed all across the Mela area to support multiple departments and provide assistance to the visitors and pilgrims during Kumbh Mela.
The grand festival of humanity and spirituality Kumbh 2019 is starting from 15th January 2019. Around 120 million people from across the world are expected to attend Kumbh Mela in the holy city Prayagraj of Uttar Pradesh. With an aim to feed 10, 000 people every day, Akshaya Patra foundation has established a centralised public kitchen in Mela area. This centralised public kitchen will be inaugurated on 13th January 2019 at 12 Noon in sector 6, Assi Madhav Road and will feed visitors and pilgrims for the entire duration of the Kumbh.
1500 Swachhagrahis are going to join Kumbh Mela for Triggering and Monitoring and will be stationed at 6 different public accommodations in sector 4-7-10-13-17-19.
For the convenience of visitors and pilgrims accommodation arrangements for 10,000 people have been made at Prayagraj Junction. In addition to this more than 500 shuttle busses have been deployed and 94 parking areas have been established to make the transit hassle free.
During Kumbh 2019 Water Ambulance facility will also be available. A doctor along with 5 staff members will be available in this water ambulance to provide treatment in case of any emergency.

Uttar Pradesh police is geared up for the security during kumbh 2019 with hi-tech equipment. In addition to the launch of rescue operations, police has acquired quad bikes for quick movement on sand of the Sangam area. These hi-tech quad bikes have wide tyres powerful engine, which make it easier and quicker to move swiftly on the sand during emergencies.

The police department is planning to build unbarred communication and surveillance system this Kumbh. During the upcoming Kumbh Mela to overcome the problems of communication, the department is heading towards Hi-tech machinery along with dedicated information channels. For smooth communication, a new trunking channel for Kumbh fair will be set for two way communications.
For surveillance during the Kumbh Mela Dail 100, Video conferencing, CCTV, UAV, VMS and Public announcement system will be utilized.
Kumbh 2019 will go a long way in hassle-free travel for devotees and travellers. While over 500 battery operated rickshaws will ferry devotees inside the Mela area, over 500 shuttle buses will run from the parking lot to the Mela area. This transport system will make it convenient for the devotees to come to the Mela area and the travel around it as well ensuring last-mile connectivity for pilgrims.
An SMS campaign has been initiated by the Prayagraj Mela Authority for the convenience of pilgrims coming for Kumbh 2019. More than 10 crore SMS will be sent to citizens in 3 waves, providing information on various aspects and facilities available for Kumbh 2019. The SMS campaign is being facilitated by Reliance Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea.
The link found in the message lead the visitor to information of lost-found centres, health, safety, booking of tents, sanitation, food court, ration and vegetable shops etc. Also, links to ticket booking through IRCTC and UPSRTC's website. Such links are being given for such facilities for the first time.
In addition to visiting the official website on the page that opens with the help of the link, there are also links to Kumbh Mela's other digital assets in the offing like Mobile app, Facebook, Twitter Instagram and YouTube, where visitor will get most updated and aunthentic information about the Kumbh Mela 2019.
With signage at every systematic point to ensure smooth traffic flow, the Kumbh Mela 2019 is all geared up to receive the unprecedented number of travellers that will visit the Mela.
As many as 1500 signages will be set up by 5th January for the convenience of devotees. These signages would include place identification, Way finding board, caution and mandatory signages, road Names and pedestrian signages.

This is in line with the state’s aim to make Kumbh 2019 a smooth and enjoyable hassle-free experience for pilgrims from all across the world.
